Final Blogging Assessment

The blog post i picked to reveal my storngest and most distinct voice is:
"The theme that this book has been revealing to me throughout the past couple chapters. I believe is that When stuck in an uncomfortable position, try your best to fix it by being the better person. Also stepping up even if it is a weird position for you. I believe this is the authors primary theme because of the fact with her husband, (ex) being so inconvenient with Katie, it puts her down a lot; self-conscious wise. It guides the authors decision while when in the middle of the book the quotes, “Katie … this really isn’t what you have to do, baby. You know I want to be with you that’s why I have for the past couple years.” (Tierny, 56).

The author supports theme throughout conflicts like Josh falling off the dock into the ocean and Katie saving him. I feel like its extremely  positive that this theme is like no other book i have ever read from theory that its unique, individual, and keeps the reader intrigued. The theme originates from when she is being so afraid of failing…to when Alex comes in to save the day and falls madly in love with her. This makes the information regarding changes throughout the book available for Katie to differ in her life when she mets Alexs family. Not to mention how much the kids love her and she stays away from Tierny in order to not get in trouble! "

1. Specific words or phrases that show my voice which are distinct are: “I feel like it is extremely positive that this theme is like no other book i have ever read from theory that it is unique, individual, and keeps the reader intrigued.” Another example is in the 1st paragraph I cited:” I believe this is the author’s primary theme because of the fact with her husband, (ex) being so inconvenient with Katie…” These sentence’s showcase my personality as a writer throughout the paragraph how I used a few more meaningful words. It also gave more depth into the sentence instead of a word with not as much of a true meaning into it. Also instead of using dull words; sometime I showcase my personality by choosing more extensive vocabulary. I tend to increase the length of my sentences sometimes, because they can vary to be short. But with more sentences’ I feel like it makes the blog more compelling instead of long, run on sentences.

2. Some examples of formal, purposeful diction I added within my piece could be: when I noted about the position Katie felt was “uncomfortable” as well as the word “inconvenient”. An example of low diction could be when I used the word “stuck” or else “afraid.” An example of elevated diction could be the sentence: “I believe is that When stuck in an uncomfortable position, try your best to fix it by being the better person. Also stepping up even if it is a weird position for you.” An example of abstract diction is:The theme originates from when she is being so afraid of failing…” because it is kind of a dull, not exciting sentence for the most part. An example of denotation is “primary” because it’s the true dictionary meaning of it which It states: 1. first or highest in rank or importance; chief; principal: his primary goals in life. 2. Next that first in order in any series, sequence, etc. 3.The first in time; earliest; primitive. Which all of these are correct. Some examples of punctuation I used for syntax are: “The theme originates from when she is being so afraid of failing…”This is using the dots to create tension.  As well as : ” Not to mention how much the kids love her and she stays away from Tierny in order to not get in trouble!” This is using the exclamation point to create excitement to the reader. Also: “I believe is that When stuck in an uncomfortable position, try your best to fix it by being the better person.” This is using the comma to show a brief, small pause for the reader. A sentence strength example is: “I feel like it is extremely positive that this theme is like no other book I have ever read from theory that its unique, individual, and keeps the reader intrigued.” Because this sentence is long; as well as descriptive and gives deep details proving points to the reader. The word order and sentence structure comes out in and sentence like: “I believe is that When stuck in an uncomfortable position, try your best to fix it by being the better person.” Because if you were to switch up the sentence; or put the order backwards, the sentence would make almost no sence at all and just plain sound completely stupid most likely!

Analyzing The Develpmonet

The theme that this book has been revealing to me throughout the past couple chapters, I believe is that When stuck in an uncomfortable position, try your best to fix it by being the better person and stepping up even if it is a weird position for you.

Analyzing conflicts

Some Conflicts I have noticed within the text is that for some odd reason Katie decided to marry Tierney. I think it was a stupid reason because she knew he doesn’t treat her well and abuses her. I believe the author relies more on internal conflicts to propel the plot. I think this because Katie thinks alone often weather or not Tierney is really good for her. Also there are other conflict’s including Alex falling off the dock into the lake.

Conflicts that are less emphasized benefit the plot by given more attention to the author if Nicholas Sparks actually wrote or focused more on smaller details. A detail like this could be the secret hidden wife Jo throughout the whole time. Impact on within the text that surprised me was like when The author didn’t focus much on the hidden police report. Also how the part on when Alex saw the report and wasn’t too shocked as to how it was Katie.

new book predictions

I started reading a new book today because I got it for Christmas and I really like it so far. It is called Safe Haven. I predict at some point in the book something will happen with Katie or (Erin) ex-husband. Because it starts off with him almost harassing her and her having these flashbacks. I think he will end up coming into her live again at the end. Although I don’t quite think he even knows for what he wants completely out of her.

I also predict that throughout the book she will end some where she has always wanted to throughout her live. Because the cover is a picture of the beach. In the beginning of the book it shows her getting on a bus. That’s the point I’m at now and its going along with her husband chasing her. The other point to it says Haven. I believe that she ends up going asomewhere peaceful maybe on a beach because of the fact a haven could be somewhere heavenly or what not.

symbol for charcaters

A symbol for the main character, Amanda, I would say reminds me of a balloon. Because the whole scheme involves birthdays, and Amanda getting so fired up on how confused when she kept running to Leo. Its almost like she could expolde if she doesnt figure out what the deal is with Leo. For a symbol for Leo i would say cluelessness. he doesnt really over look the whole running into a girl coincidentally accident  optimistically. He doesnt think its anything specail and doesnt mind the whole circumstace too much.
Compared to the doctor who delivered them,  i believe the symbol would be like a lucky charm. He was the one who said you guys are going to see eachother for the next 11 years and just ave that randomly happen! i think its cool how that worked out in the book. Also the moms have some sort of connection i feel, because they are the ones who remember eachother and find eachother when they always running into eachother.

Setting

The main setting in this book is in a New York City suburb area. They are near downtown. It says this when they all run into each other quite often around the same area. A couple blocks down the kids are both born in the same hospital Al though its 11 years earlier!!

They run into each other on their 11th birthday. A quote states “OH my gosh… is that really… you? I couldn’t believe it when I saw my eyes. I was never this lose to him since the day we had been born in that same floor, next door, light violet painted rooms.” This quote really has a lot of good imagery. It also shows the relation of how the two feel a connection together. And I know this has a good reason as to when they meet back up throughout the rest of their lives!

text to text

A connection between the book I am reading now and another book, being text to text, is that this book is very girly. I found it is fictional and it relates to My life in pink and green. That book is one I have previously read. A text to self connection is that the main character has a best friend in the book who she celebrates every birthday with. I found that neat because I have one too, who I have spent with ever since I moved to Mason.

Text to world connection is that the girl is tying to relate to world somehow. she is trying to get someone or something to help her notice the "coincidentally" moments in which she keeps running into the strange boy she met the day she was born. She feels as if her life is revolving around him every continuous year she finds him. Summaries of Amanda And Leos Life.
