Explain why you chose the book you did/ How does society affect individuals.

The book I chose was “11 Birthdays.” The main reason I chose this book was because of the cover. When covers really stick out to me, it pops up into my mind that they are probably pretty good book. Unless the book is about something more strictly related to guy stories, biographies or anything science fictional usually isn’t my type. I really like books made after movies. Whether or not if I have seen the movie, if I liked the movie usually the book will be good, or else if the cover looks interesting as well as the title, it pops out.

This book shows how society affects an individual for example how the girl and boy keep meeting up with each other every year. Why does the author stop at 11 years old though? The last year they meet up with each other is when they turn 11 years old and after that don’t see each other. It affects the characters because they obviously know something is up. It’s really the author messing with the audience in real life. I think all of the readers are wondering when their next going to meet up. And I predict that they will end up meeting up together when they get way older towards the end of the book.

Blogging Prompt 4- Author & Research

Blogging Prompt 4- Author & Research

The author of the book I am independently reading is Wendy Mass.  In a biography of Mass it noted how she w as Born 1967, in Livingston, NJ. She got her Education from Tufts University (English); California State University at Long Beach, (English); Drew University, doctor of letters degree. She was a Writer. She worked variously for a literary agent, a television casting company, as a script reader for a film producer, and as a book editor at publishing houses in New York, NY, and CT.

After graduating from Tufts University with a degree in English, Mass moved to Los Angeles, California, to work in the entertainment industry. She later attended graduate school, where she made the decision to write for children and young adults. Moving back east, where she began her career in publishing, Mass was soon afforded the opportunity to write nonfiction. The book 11 Birthdays she published in 2009 was not nonfiction, though. Considering it is about magical dreams and wishes coming true!

Predictions on F451

Because of over the Thanksgiving Break, I read A Lot of Fahrenheit 451. Some predictions I have for the book is obviously I feel like something will happen with the whole books issue! Montag just recently stole a book from a previous night while setting a fire. That is basically illegal where they live so his wife wants nothing to do with him having books around her house because of the fact Captain Beatty was in their house the other Day checking up on Montag while he was “sick”. I think in the end the both of them will get in trouble with the government. I also think something will enter about Clarisse. She entered so quickly and left very quickly also.

A future plot event I think will happen in the story might be where the society realizes preventing people from reading, might end up as a stupid idea. It seems as though some of the actual citizens are catching on to it.  I did have some questions within the book like: why is Mildred so obsessed with tv shows?? And why is Montag acting so sick, while preventing to go to work? I also didn’t get where in the scene of the fire where Montag stole a book what happened to Captain Beatty during that time, casue it said a lot about him but it confused me a lot.

This is an article on how in  Wales people are actually Burning Books in real life!! Crazy to think about How Ray Bradbury made that prediction.
