I can infer from the text that it means Lisa is very kind and isn’t forcing her sister to do whatever she doesn’t want to do. Even though she wants her sister to help her its what her sister wants. She also says on page 54, “No, that wouldn’t be necessary.. you don’t need to do that for me honey.” From her mom’s point of view.
