Final Blog Reflections-
Part 1 – The
blog I think best exemplifies my ability to analyze complex characters ,theme,
and cite strong, textual evidence would probably be this blog: http://lexireadingblog.blogspot.com/2013/10/analysis-lucy-desberg-is-12-year-old.html#comment-form
One reason
why I believe this is the best is because I gave a really thorough description
on throughout the story what I felt the main points were. I included a couple really
good quotes throughout when I was reading I really enjoyed them. I felt they
really bring out the really exquisite ideas leading to the development towards the
theme. I also deeply explained the quotes and how I Intereprated them. Though
to me a sentence could mean something different from what someone else thinks.
I also included page numbers to point out where I found the text. Proof my blog
meets the expectations to the rubric is that in the rubric it says “The student
cites strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text
says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.” And I feel
throughout my example blog post I did everything it was asking me to!
Part 2/Choice
1- A goal I have for next trimester in my reading is to complete about 2 more
books than I did this tri. I think it would be easier to compare books to each other
and say I have read more in that little bit of time. For writing I would like
to think about improving my writing skills like maybe learning new vocabulary
to sound more sophisticated. An area I want to improve next trimester in
reading would be to read more over a smaller amount of time like every night
improve the pages or chapters I read. An area I want to improve in my writing
is learning to make my papers longer maybe by using words in paragraphs to make
them longer.
Choice 2-Something
I struggled with in the experience was coming up with so many different subjects
to talk about within the one story. Because there’s only so much you can talk
about with one subject in the book. I
overcame through the struggle by just looking through the book and finding more
evidence I could prove my topic on and explain about it. One strength I had
with blogging was talking about the book because I absolutely loved the book
and understood it completely. An example
is: http://lexireadingblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/blog-post-6-overview-onmy-book-right.html#comment-form
Because it
shows I understood it very well.
